As Winemaking tastes each individual lot of wine from the myriad of distinct blocks on our Bell Mountain Estate ranch, they discover that certain parts of the vineyard are best as components for limited production blends. These micro blocks are identified and, over time and experimentation, they become part of our Small Lot Collection. These wines are 100% estate-grown, organic, and initially released to our Wine Club Members before being made available online or at our Tasting Room.
The inaugural release of our Newcomb Sauvignon Blanc offers powerful aromatics of lemon flower and citrus peel with a hint of stone fruit. On the palate, velvety acid with grapefruit, apricot, and nectarine. This is a sit-down Sauvignon Blanc, and would pair perfectly with loup de mer at a beachside café in Saint-Tropez.
Our 2016 Kate's & B's offers plenty of fruit up front, with blackberry, ripe blueberry, and a hint of raspberry. The fruit is supported by notes of cinnamon and roasted espresso. On the palate the wine is lusciously smooth, with silky tannins, great weight and complexity.
Our 2016 Fifty Tons provides powerful blackberry and black currant aromas with a hint of raspberry. The upfront fruit aromas are backed up by notes of vanilla and the warm perfume of oak. On the palate, this wine offers bright acidity, concentrated dark fruit, and velvety smooth tannins. The finish is long with a hint of minerality at the end.
