Our 50 acres of vineyards are farmed organically, and the winemaking is powered by solar energy. Director of Sales and Marketing

As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we are entering an era of significant growth. We’re looking for a proven DTC & hospitality sales and marketing leader who can’t help themselves but be in front of our guests and drive meaningful sales through long-term relationship development. This leader provides executive guidance, strategy, and execution as we drive meaningful top and bottom-line growth. This is a dynamic role for a leader with strategic vision and high motivation for success. A deep understanding of the customer journey and how to share the Medlock Ames story across all touchpoints is key. You will wear several hats and touch all aspects of our business. Being a team player, problem solver and rooted in sales performance is a must.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
Sales Strategy & Growth
- Create annual marketing and sales plan across channels including product strategy for releases to club, ecommerce, and pouring programs at our hospitality locations
- Responsible for top and bottom-line growth for all Sales & Hospitality including our tasting room, Bell Mountain Ranch, eCommerce, and Membership program including all events both at our properties and as part of Medlock Ames On the Road
- Set strategy for driving greater traffic to our properties and events and manage team in execution
- Responsible for meeting monthly and annual sales goals while operating within budget
- Develop customer loyalty and retention program, analyzing business to identify and provide high-touch service to most profitable customers
- Set annual event strategy for Tasting Room, Bell Mountain Ranch, Membership and Medlock Ames On the Road then ensure flawless execution driving greater consumer loyalty and engagement
- Lead by example to set the high standards and ensure all team members are driving sales and growing business across all customer-facing channels
- Ensure high touch hospitality standards are met every day through ongoing training and coaching
- Manage all membership experiences at our hospitality centers, events, and other in-person experiences
- Support efforts to build new sales channels in partnership with President, driving greater brand exposure and growth
Guest Experience Leadership and Management:
- Provide leadership in all aspects of guest sales and hospitality
- Inspire others in a positive, genuine, and professional manner, while driving individual and group accountability and profitability
- Conduct regular team sales meetings to review sales goals and performance, strategy, operations, company and policy changes, and wine education.
- Oversee all hiring, training, scheduling and management of all Sales and Marketing team members
- Perform annual reviews and provide ongoing feedback and coaching for direct reports
- Own development of all collateral and consumer-facing experiences both at our properties, events, and virtually
- Drive the Medlock Ames culture and values in all that we do
Additional Sales Responsibilities
- Own P&L for Hospitality centers, Membership, eCommerce and Events
- Create annual sales plans across channels with creative ideas for driving new customers to experience our warm and inviting hospitality and experiences.
- Work with President to set product and tasting strategy for hospitality centers and events. Provides input on product strategy releases to membership, ecommerce, and wholesale.
- Responsible for top and bottom-line growth for guest-facing sales including our tasting room, Bell Mountain Ranch, events, Virtual tasting experiences, Membership visitations and On the Road
- Work in partnership with Membership and Sales Operations Manager to ensure timely and accurate counting and management of inventory
- Develop run rates for inventory needs across sales channels
- Provide weekly and monthly performance reports
- Provide support to President and Winemaker on all elements related to product development and support including input on SKU mix, release timing, production quantities, and pricing
Marketing Leadership and Management
- Responsible for all consumer-facing marketing including collateral, website design, customer presentation, outreach and digital marketing
- Set strategy and own execution by the Digital Marketing Manager to drive traffic, brand awareness and sales through eCommerce
- Ensure consistency of brand voice and visuals by setting and adhering to brand standards and guidelines
- Build relationships with key partners for branded events, brand awareness, and traffic-driving activities
Experience/Skills:
- Minimum 8 years of hospitality and management with track record of success in growing sales across multiple locations/channels
- Hungry sales instincts with a strong drive to close business and process sales or develop new sales channels
- Strong understanding and experience with marketing, ensuring throughline of brand voice and visuals
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-performance culture
- Must be highly organized with an impeccable attention to detail and able to work in a multi-task environment
- Analytically minded with ability to derive insights on the business to drive improved performance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Accountant
Department: Administration

This is a dynamic role for someone with proven accounting experience and high motivation for success. You will wear several hats and touch many aspects of our business. Being a team player and problem solver is a must.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
Financial Accounting
- Monitor daily cash needs
- Manage all cash transactions well as all credit card statements
- Manage all accounts payable/Bill.com including all invoice approvals, processing, G/L coding and reconciliations
- Oversee all accounts receivable including invoicing for wholesale distribution & custom crush
- Perform all monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly payroll journal entries
- Prepare monthly sales entries
- Oversee fixed assets accounting and depreciation.
- Assist in preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist in creating and maintaining annual departmental budgets
- Assist with cost accounting requirements
- Support sales team in the monthly inventory and reconciliation
- Assist in the preparation of financial packages
- Prepare bank deposits and make weekly bank runs as needed
- Other ad-hoc projects as needed
Experience/Skills:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of broad financial experience with a minimum of 2 years in financial accounting
- BA or higher degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- Must be highly organized, analytical, and able to work in a multi-task environment
- Understanding of general accounting practices
- Proficient with Micrsoft Excel
- QuickBooks system experience a plus but not required

Office Manager / Payroll Manager

This is an administrative role for an extremely detailed oriented person who wishes to support core operations of a thriving winery. You will support the key HR functions of on-boarding new employees and managing HR compliance while working closely with the CFO and President to run payroll on a bi-weekly basis. This is a part-time position of 1-2 days per week with potentially an additional day during harvest. There is plenty of flexibility on the time worked and location. Being a team player and problem-solver is a must.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
Payroll Administration
- Ensure all department heads have approved payroll in timely manner
- Confirm all new employee data is entered and all changes to deductions are correct
- Responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing which includes timely onboarding of all new employees, confirming accuracy of payroll amounts and all benefits payments
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll requirements
General HR and Business Support
- Manage all employee on-boarding and off-boarding activities
- Maintain a positive and productive working environment by ensuring all employee’s HR needs are addressed in a timely fashion
- Manage all business supply requirements for offices, winery, and tasting room
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of broad office management, payroll or financial experience
- Associates or BA degree preferred
- Must be highly organized and able to work in a multi-task environment
- Understanding of basic HR, payroll or compliance regulations is a plus but not required
- Excellent math, written and verbal communication skills

Tasting Room Wine Educator

Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
- Greets all visitors with warmth and enthusiasm
- Provides exceptional hospitality and high-touch service
- Conveys professionalism and is knowledgeable about Medlock Ames wines and story to cultivate loyal guests; this is measured by repeat visits, sales, and membership sign-ups
- Provides a “Best in Class” tasting experience, while pouring in accordance with Responsible Beverage Service Guidelines
- Supports the growth our membership program and direct to consumer sales division
- Uses consultative sales skills to achieve goals and drive success
- Works as a team player – one team, one dream
- Handles routine sales transactions, including operating POS, accounting of daily sales, pours and samples
- Prepares tasting room open and closing tasks by following Medlock Ames Winery procedures
- Facilitates outbound phone sales when required
- Assists with reservations, walk-ins and table management
- Takes initiative on assigned projects and meets deadlines
- Attends staff trainings and applies new skills taught
- Represents winery at outside functions in a professional manner as required

Senior Wine Educator

- Leads by example, establishes “Best in Class” customer service for educating and hosting groups at Bell Mountain Ranch and Historic Tasting Room with the objective to meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Lead host for VIP at the TR, Bell Mountain Preservation Society Members and Private Clients
- Maintains a list of high value Preservation Society Members and Private Clients for continued sales by establishing and hosting On the Road Events with high revenue generation
- Assists in development for new luxury experiences at the Historic Tasting Room and Bell Mountain Ranch
- Manages outreach contacts with partner hotels and wineries as well as building new relationships
- Facilitates outbound phone sales when required
