Our sparkling began with a single acre of Pinot Noir, planted in the coolest, southernmost part of Bell Mountain, on the Russian River Valley side of the ranch. The fruit was beautiful, but there was so little of it that we could barely make enough to bottle as Pinot Noir. As our 20th vintage approached and we looked for a wine to celebrate it, we paired that Pinot Noir with the Chardonnay grown in the next rows to make a traditional-method brut. Like everything we grow, the fruit is sustainably farmed.
Tasting Notes
Fresh, lively and complex, with aromas of lemon shortbread and delicate apple blossom. Layers of white peach galette and summer strawberry unfold over a vibrant mineral backbone. The mousse is fine and elegant, with a creamy texture that leads into a rich yet refreshing finish.

2021 Vintage
Mild ripening weather through summer and fall, with very few heat spikes, let us pick each block at its ideal moment, and the acidity held up through a long ripening season. Drought kept berries and clusters small, giving some of our lowest yields since we began farming Bell Mountain, with a high concentration of flavor.
