2024 Bell Mountain Sauvignon Blanc

2024 Bell Mountain Sauvignon Blanc
We grow our Sauvignon Blanc from two different clones and on two separate sites at Bell Mountain. The more northerly growing site has east to west sun exposure for extreme ripening of the fruit. The southern site is one of our coolest spots at Bell Mountain which creates layers of minerality, freshness, lively citrus characters, and the palate cleansing acidity we look for in Sauvignon Blanc. Even though they are the same grape, the flavors and structure from these separate sites allow us to blend with more depth and complexity in the wine.
The 2024 Bell Mountain Sauvignon Blanc is an exceptionally aromatic wine, offering a vibrant bouquet of lychee, lemon verbena, and bay leaf. On the palate, it reveals bright flavors of white peach, tangerine, and mandarin, with great acidity that adds a refreshing lift. The layers of citrus and stone fruit make for a dynamic and beautifully balanced wine. This Sauvignon Blanc pairs beautifully with fresh seafood, particularly oysters or grilled shrimp, as well as goat cheese salads or a light citrusy chicken dish.
Vintage
The 2024 season started with ample rainfall and was marked by a cool spring that allowed vines to progress at a nice pace, with steady and healthy canopy growth. By August, the region enjoyed long, warm days and cool nights, creating optimal conditions for ripening while helping to retain acidity in the grapes, contributing to bright, balanced flavors. This year’s harvest returned to a more typical schedule compared to 2023, resulting in an exceptional vintage with excellent depth and flavor.
